Understanding your business and being ready to borrow are not two projects. Each stage of the application carries its own lessons, so finishing one is what produces the other.
We prepare the file. The lender interviews, verifies and decides.
This is attached to the step you are standing on, not to a separate course you have to remember to go back to.
Every one of the eleven stages has its own set. There is no separate curriculum to keep in step with the form, because there is no second structure to drift.
So the usual answer is to bolt a course onto a form and hope people do both. They do not, and the two drift apart until the lessons are about one business and the file is about another. Turning it around is simpler and it works better: teach the thing the next stage is going to ask about, at the moment it asks, and let the answers accumulate. The seam between learning and applying should be invisible, and any surface that shows it is a defect.
Each of the eleven stages of an application carries its own lessons, tips and worked meaning. Learning is not a place you visit; it is what the current step explains about itself.
Every stage says what a lender is looking for at that point and what people most commonly get wrong there, before you answer rather than after you are turned down.
You can work through it with your own figures first. When it becomes a real application, the work comes with it: what you sorted out in the practice is already the answer in the file.
Flat rate against reducing balance, side by side, on your own amount. What money is worth later than it is now. The full cost of a loan once the arrangement fee, the processing fee and the insurance are counted.
Learn mode explains as you go. Guide mode gets on with it. Same eleven stages either way, and you move between them when you want to, not when you are told to.
Badges and points mark work completed. They are not a measure of your business, they do not place you against another borrower, and nothing you can see orders your next actions by anything other than how much of the file they complete.
A borrower who finishes understanding their business and is no closer to credit has not been served. A borrower who gets credit without understanding their business has been set up to fail. So neither the teaching nor the form is the product; the one path that produces both is.
Start with your own business, in your own words. The stages fill in behind you.
